Description: Juniper Networks MIB for managing generic subscriber service profiles used for access policy on Juniper E-series platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is Juniper-PROFILE-MIB?

Juniper-PROFILE-MIB is a Juniper Networks enterprise MIB for managing generic, named service profiles applied to subscriber-facing interfaces on JUNOSe E-series platforms. It exposes tables mapping profile names to numeric profile IDs and tables assigning a given profile to specific interfaces, making it primarily a configuration/provisioning MIB rather than a performance-counter one. Its monitoring value is in verifying software/provisioning state: checking that a profile's row status is active and that the correct profile ID is bound to the correct interface index helps catch subscriber mis-provisioning or stale/orphaned profile entries, which is effectively a software-configuration health check rather than a hardware one. It is designed to work alongside AAA/RADIUS-driven subscriber management on the same platform. It is typically deployed in broadband/edge access networks where per-subscriber service policies are assigned dynamically, and network engineers consult the Juniper-PROFILE-MIB MIB to verify those profile bindings.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Juniper-PROFILE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Juniper E-series router (JUNOSe broadband access/edge platform)

Monitoring Examples

An operator can enumerate juniProfileNameTable entries and check juniProfileNameRowStatus to confirm each named profile is active, then cross-reference juniProfileIdTable (juniProfileIdId to juniProfileIdName) and juniProfAssignIfTable (juniProfAssignIfIndex) to verify that a specific subscriber interface has the expected profile ID assigned. A missing or incorrect entry in juniProfAssignIfTable would explain why a subscriber isn't receiving the service parameters associated with their intended profile.

What Can Be Monitored

  • configured profile names and IDs
  • profile row status (active/inactive)
  • profile-to-interface assignments
  • interface index bound to a profile
