Category: Vendor: Juniper

Description: Defines conformance statements for IP routing policy management on Juniper Networks E-series platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is Juniper-IP-Policy-CONF?

Juniper-IP-Policy-CONF is a Juniper Networks agent-capabilities/conformance MIB documenting SNMP agent support for IP routing policy management objects on Juniper E-series routers. Like other Juniper *-CONF modules it defines no managed objects itself, only AGENT-CAPABILITIES statements listing which IP policy object groups the agent implements. With no runtime data objects, it offers nothing to poll for hardware or software status; its only function is compliance declaration. It depends on Juniper's own IP Policy MIB, whose object groups it certifies compliance against, rather than an external standard. It is used during NMS agent-capability validation for Juniper E-series routers running IP routing policy features, not for day-to-day monitoring, so administrators typically consult the Juniper-IP-Policy-CONF MIB only when validating agent compliance.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Juniper-IP-Policy-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Juniper E-series routers (IP routing policy feature)

Monitoring Examples

This is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES module with an empty sample_objects list, so it has no data objects to poll; it exists only to declare which IP Policy MIB groups the Juniper agent supports.
