Description: Defines conformance statements for Frame Relay interface management on Juniper Networks E-series platforms.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is Juniper-Frame-Relay-CONF?
Juniper-Frame-Relay-CONF is a Juniper Networks (originally Unisphere Networks) AGENT-CAPABILITIES MIB that declares which Frame Relay MIB groups the JUNOSe SNMP agent supports on Juniper's E-series routing platforms, rather than defining managed objects itself. It defines juniFrameRelayAgentV1 (obsolete, covering JUNOSe 1.0–4.x, supporting FRAME-RELAY-DTE-MIB's frPortGroup/frCircuitGroup and Juniper-FRAME-RELAY-MIB's juniFrGroup/juniFrSubIfGroup) and juniFrameRelayAgentV2 (current, for JUNOSe 5.0 and later, adding juniFrGroup2 and juniFrMlFrGroup to support multi-link Frame Relay). This gives management applications a way to determine, per JUNOSe software release, exactly which standard and Juniper-specific Frame Relay object groups are implemented on a given device, which matters when deciding whether multi-link Frame Relay statistics or basic port/circuit groups can be polled reliably from that agent. It depends entirely on FRAME-RELAY-DTE-MIB and Juniper-FRAME-RELAY-MIB for the groups it references and on Juniper-Agents for its OID anchor, and is deployed as a capabilities statement alongside the SNMP agent on Juniper E-series (JUNOSe) routers. Anyone auditing agent capabilities on JUNOSe routers can consult the Juniper-Frame-Relay-CONF MIB to see exactly which Frame Relay groups a given software release exposes.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Juniper-Frame-Relay-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Juniper Networks E-series routers running JUNOSe (formerly Unisphere Networks)
Monitoring Examples
A management application queries a JUNOSe router's supported agent capabilities and finds juniFrameRelayAgentV2 listed, confirming juniFrMlFrGroup (multi-link Frame Relay) is supported and can be polled; a router still reporting only juniFrameRelayAgentV1 would indicate it is running pre-5.0 JUNOSe software and multi-link Frame Relay statistics are not available from that agent.
What Can Be Monitored
- supported Frame Relay MIB group capabilities per JUNOSe release
- Frame Relay port/circuit group support
- Juniper Frame Relay group and sub-interface group support
- multi-link Frame Relay group support
