Category: Protocol: DVMRP, Technology: Multicast, Vendor: Juniper

Description: Defines conformance statements for DVMRP multicast routing management on Juniper Networks E-series platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is Juniper-DVMRP-CONF?

Juniper-DVMRP-CONF is a Juniper Networks AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module declaring the SNMP agent's implementation of the DVMRP multicast routing component on the Juniper E-series (ERX) edge router family. Like other capability modules, it is a compatibility/conformance declaration rather than a data-bearing MIB, carrying no scalar or table objects of its own. Its role is limited to MIB-compilation and network-management-system compatibility checking rather than runtime monitoring. It is present on Juniper E-series (ERX) routers implementing the DVMRP multicast routing agent component. Engineers can download the Juniper-DVMRP-CONF file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Juniper-DVMRP-CONF. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Juniper Networks E-series (ERX) edge routers

Monitoring Examples

A network management system consults this capability module during MIB compilation to determine which DVMRP multicast routing-related object groups a given Juniper E-series router actually implements before attempting to poll them.
