Category: Device Management

Description: ISPro network management MIB providing SNMP objects for ISP-grade router and access device performance monitoring and configuration.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ISPRO-MIB?

ISPRO-MIB is a proprietary MIB (branded Jacarta/webAppliance) for ISP-grade routers and access devices, providing objects for device identification, agent software versioning, and IP/network configuration. It exposes an identity group covering manufacturer, model, and agent software version, and a configuration group covering the device's IP address, gateway, subnet mask, and date/time (including NTP synchronization settings). In a monitoring context it is explicitly useful for confirming device identity and software version (isIdentAgentSoftwareVersion) for inventory/compliance purposes, and for verifying that network configuration (IP, gateway, mask) and time synchronization via NTP are correctly set, which affects log accuracy and management reachability. It is a self-contained proprietary MIB (Jacarta product line) without a documented dependency on other standard MIBs. It is typically deployed on Jacarta-branded ISP web/management appliances used for remote site monitoring and out-of-band management. Engineers can download the ISPRO-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ISPRO-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Jacarta webAppliance ISP management device

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll isIdentManufacturer, isIdentModel, and isIdentAgentSoftwareVersion to inventory the device and confirm it is running an expected firmware release. isConfigIpAddress, isConfigGateway, and isConfigSubnetMask would be checked to verify network configuration matches provisioning records, while isConfigTimeFromNtp and isConfigNtpIpAddress reveal whether the device's clock (isConfigDate/isConfigTime) is being kept in sync via NTP rather than drifting on a free-running clock.

What Can Be Monitored

  • manufacturer/model/software version
  • IP address, gateway, and subnet mask
  • system date and time
  • NTP synchronization status and server
