icmpInTimestamps

Module: IP-MIB

OID (symbolic): IP-MIB::icmpInTimestamps

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.5.10

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter32

Access: read-only

Description:

The number of ICMP Timestamp (request) messages received.

This object has been deprecated, as a new IP version-neutral table has been added. It is loosely replaced by a column in the icmpMsgStatsTable.

What is icmpInTimestamps?

This counter tracks the number of ICMP Timestamp Request messages received by this host or router since the last restart. ICMP Timestamp requests are used for precise time synchronization between network devices, though this object is now deprecated in favor of newer MIB tables. Legacy network monitoring systems may still check this counter to diagnose time synchronization issues or detect clock synchronization requests on the network.
