Category: Hardware and Environment, Vendor: ICT
Description: ICT root MIB defining the OID tree and common objects for ICT power and environmental monitoring equipment.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ICT-MIB?
ICT-MIB is a vendor-specific SNMP MIB from ICT (International Cogeneration Technology / ICT Power) that defines the root OID tree and a flat set of common management objects for the ICT Digital Series of power and environmental monitoring equipment. It is a very small, legacy SMIv1 MIB (importing from RFC1155-SMI, RFC1213-MIB, RFC-1212, and RFC-1215) that exposes basic device-identity objects (deviceModel, deviceName, deviceHardware, deviceFirmware, deviceMacAddress) alongside power-rail telemetry (inputVoltage, outputVoltage, outputCurrent) and a simple output-enable state under the digitalSeries subtree. Because every object is a scalar rather than a table, it provides a coarse snapshot of a single power unit's identity and electrical condition rather than per-rail or per-module detail. It is useful for lightweight polling of DC/AC power supplies in telecom and datacenter environments where ICT Digital Series units are deployed, typically alongside richer chassis or rectifier MIBs from the same site. Network administrators evaluating this legacy device commonly search for the ICT-MIB MIB when integrating it into their monitoring stack.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ICT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- ICT Digital Series power/environmental monitoring units
Monitoring Examples
An operator polls outputVoltage and outputCurrent on a schedule to confirm the power unit is delivering expected DC output, cross-checking outputEnable to ensure the output hasn't been administratively disabled; a drop in outputVoltage combined with outputEnable still showing ENABLED(1) would indicate a failing power module rather than a deliberate shutdown.
What Can Be Monitored
- device identity (model, name, hardware/firmware version)
- input voltage (AC)
- output voltage (DC)
- output current
- output enable/disable status
