Description: HP StoreAll (IBRIX) MIB for scale-out NAS storage management providing cluster nodes, volumes, and performance statistics.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is IBRIX-MIB?

The IBRIX-MIB is HP's enterprise MIB for the StoreAll (formerly IBRIX) scale-out NAS storage platform, version 6.5, covering cluster nodes, file systems/volumes, and related events. It exposes storage-capacity data such as total, free, and used blocks per file system, maximum file counts, and segment/mount information, alongside an events table for cluster-level notifications. This is directly hardware/software status monitoring for a storage cluster: administrators track free space and used-block counts to catch capacity exhaustion before it causes write failures, and watch the events table for cluster health alarms such as node or segment failures. As a scale-out NAS product it likely also depends on general host-resource conventions for tracking per-node status, though the MIB itself is a self-contained enterprise tree. It is deployed in HP StoreAll IBRIX clustered NAS storage systems used for large-scale file storage in data centers and HPC environments. Engineers can download the IBRIX-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in IBRIX-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • HP StoreAll (IBRIX) scale-out NAS storage cluster

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll fileSystemTable/fileSystemEntry for a given fsName to compare fsFreeBlocks and fsUsedBlocks against fsTotalBlocks, catching a file system approaching capacity before it impacts client writes. Watching fsFreeUserBlocks versus fsMaxFiles per fsSegment can also reveal whether a segment is running low on either space or file-count headroom, and the ibrixEvents/ibrixEventsV2 tables surface cluster-level fault notifications for correlation.

What Can Be Monitored

  • file system free/used blocks
  • file system total capacity
  • maximum file count per segment
  • cluster events/alarms
  • volume mount status
