Description: IBM MIB for monitoring power supply status, voltage rails, and power consumption on IBM server hardware.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is IBM-SYSTEM-POWER-MIB?

IBM-SYSTEM-POWER-MIB is an IBM proprietary MIB modeling the CIM-derived IBMPSG_PowerSupply class as an SNMP-manageable power supply on IBM systems. Its power-supply table, keyed by index, records a plug-and-play device ID, a status-information string, the CIM system-creation-class name it belongs to, an events-enabled flag, and a polling-interval setting. As a hardware-status MIB it lets an administrator confirm a power supply's health status and control how frequently it's polled and whether event notifications are enabled for it. It is deployed on IBM systems with CIM-instrumented power-supply hardware. Engineers can download the IBM-SYSTEM-POWER-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in IBM-SYSTEM-POWER-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • IBM systems with CIM-instrumented power supplies

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks ibmSystemPowerSupplyStatusInfo across all power supplies in a system to confirm all units report healthy status before scheduling maintenance that depends on power redundancy.

What Can Be Monitored

  • power supply status and event-notification configuration
