What Is IBM-SYSTEM-ASSETID-MIB?

IBM-SYSTEM-ASSETID-MIB is an IBM proprietary MIB (extending IBM-SYSTEM-MIB) reporting asset-identification detail for IBM PC hardware components. Its serial-number-information table records component name, serial number, manufacturer, model, version, and other identifying info, a computer-system table records name, model, primary-owner contact, and status, and a details table adds system UUID, asset number/tag, and last-inventoried timestamp. As a hardware-inventory MIB it lets an administrator confirm exact hardware identification and asset-tag detail during a fleet audit. It is deployed on IBM PC hardware platforms. Engineers can download the IBM-SYSTEM-ASSETID-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
