Description: HW group MIB for the Water Leak Detector (WLD) device providing sensor status and alarm notifications for water detection.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HWg-WLD-MIB?
HWg-WLD-MIB is a vendor MIB from HW group (Hardware Group) for the Water Leak Detector (WLD), a small standalone environmental sensor unit rather than a network switch or server. It exposes data through a wldTable listing each detected leak sensor with an identity, name, and address, alongside its current state and value readings. The primary use of this MIB is fault and status monitoring of physical sensor hardware: it reports whether a water leak sensor is currently in an alarm (leak detected) or normal state, and includes the device's MAC address and serial number for asset identification. There is no CPU, memory, or software-process data here since the device is a dedicated sensor appliance, so the entire monitoring value is in the binary/analog leak-detection state and sensor identity fields. It has no notable dependency on other standard MIBs beyond basic SNMPv2-SMI conventions, and it is deployed in server rooms, data centers, or telecom closets where HW group leak-detection hardware is installed to protect equipment from water damage. Engineers can download the HWg-WLD-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HWg-WLD-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- HW group water leak detector
- environmental monitoring sensor appliance
Monitoring Examples
An admin would poll wldTable/wldEntry, keyed by wldIndex, to read wldName (the sensor's assigned label), wldState (current leak/no-leak status), wldSN, and wldID for each attached sensor, plus wldValue for a raw reading. A change of wldState to an alarm value for a given wldIndex reveals that water has been detected at that sensor's physical location, prompting immediate facilities response. infoAddressMAC gives the detector unit's own MAC address for inventory tracking within the hwgwld device tree under the hwgroup/x390 enterprise branch.
What Can Be Monitored
- water leak alarm state
- sensor name/label
- sensor serial number
- sensor raw reading value
- detector MAC address
