What Is HUAWEI-TS-MIB?

HUAWEI-TS-MIB is a Huawei proprietary MIB for managing Terminal Services on Huawei network devices, covering configuration and monitoring of console and VTY (virtual terminal) sessions used for remote and local device administration. It exposes a terminal-server application table tracking IP address, port, application type, session state, and socket buffer sizing for each terminal service instance, plus a trap group for terminal-service events. This is primarily a software/service-status MIB used to confirm that management access channels (console/VTY) are configured and operating correctly, letting an administrator verify session state and detect abnormal terminal-server behavior such as a stuck or unresponsive TTY session. It relies on standard SNMP/IP conventions and Huawei's private enterprise tree rather than a specific external MIB dependency. It is typically deployed on Huawei routers and switches wherever remote terminal access (Telnet/console redirection) is used for device management. An administrator would poll tsAppTable, keyed by tsAppID, to check tsAppIPAddress, tsAppPort, and tsAppTtyServerState for each configured terminal application, confirming that a VTY line is in the expected listening or connected state. An unexpectedly stalled tsAppTtyServerState combined with a full tsAppSocketRecvBufSize could indicate a hung terminal session consuming a VTY line and blocking new administrative logins. Monitoring tsTrap notifications would alert operators in real time when a terminal-service session starts, stops, or errors out.
