What Is HUAWEI-V5-MIB?

HUAWEI-V5-MIB is a Huawei-proprietary module for managing V5.1/V5.2 interfaces that connect digital subscriber loop access networks (such as a DSLAM or access node) to a local telephone exchange. It exposes V5 interface configuration, the protocol variant in use (V5.1 versus V5.2), V5 link and E1 timeslot status, and C-channel-to-user-port mapping used for signaling. Its monitoring role centers on hardware status: the physical up/down state of each V5 link and its underlying E1 timeslots is critical, since a failed V5 link disrupts telephony service for every subscriber line multiplexed onto that interface. It builds on the ITU-T G.964/G.965 V5 interface standards and complements standard IF-MIB objects for the underlying E1/T1 physical links.
