Description: Huawei R2 signaling MIB for managing MFC-R2 analog telephony signaling on E1 trunks in carrier access networks.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-R2-MIB?

HUAWEI-R2-MIB manages MFC-R2 (Multi-Frequency Compelled R2) analog telephony signaling on E1 trunks, used by Huawei voice gateways and access equipment to interconnect with legacy PSTN or PBX exchanges. It exposes signaling profile configuration (timers, number-send mode), per-signal address send/receive line-signal tables, and signal-type version information. Its monitoring value is primarily protocol/software correctness on voice trunks rather than physical hardware: verifying that signaling timers and the number-send mode match the connected exchange, and that the signal-type version matches on both ends, is essential to keeping R2 call setup working, since a mismatch here causes call-establishment failures. It implements the ITU-T R2/MFC-R2 signaling standard on top of standard E1/PCM trunk transport (as covered by RFC 1406/2495-style E1 MIBs). It is deployed on Huawei voice gateways and access devices that interface with legacy analog/PSTN switching equipment via E1 R2 trunks. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-R2-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-R2-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei voice gateways and access devices with E1 R2 (MFC-R2) trunks

Monitoring Examples

An operator would inspect hwR2ProfileTable entries, checking hwWaitBsignalTime and hwNumberSendMode, to confirm the trunk's signaling timing and address-sending behavior match the configuration expected by the connected PBX or exchange. The hwAddressSendListTable and hwAddressReceiveListTable, with per-signal fields like hwAddressSendInformationSC/ES/CC/DISC/NAC/SP, would be checked to verify the compelled-signal mapping used for call setup is correct on both send and receive sides. Cross-checking hwR2SignalTypeVersionTable confirms that the R2 signal-type version matches the far-end exchange, since a version mismatch is a common cause of failed or garbled call setups on that trunk.

What Can Be Monitored

  • R2 signaling profile timers
  • number-send mode
  • address send/receive signal mapping
  • signal-type version match
  • trunk signaling operational status
