Description: H3C MIB for MPLS OAM (Operations, Administration, and Maintenance) managing LSP connectivity verification and fault isolation.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is H3C-MPLSOAM-MIB?

H3C-MPLSOAM-MIB is an H3C-specific MIB for MPLS Operations, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM), used to configure and monitor connectivity-verification sessions over MPLS Label Switched Paths (LSPs) to detect and localize faults. It exposes overall OAM capability/trap-enable scalars and an ingress-detection table defining, per LSP, the detection type and frequency, the reverse LSP used for the return path, and whether detection is enabled. This is fundamentally a fault-monitoring MIB for the MPLS forwarding plane: operators use it to continuously verify LSP connectivity and receive h3cMplsOamNotifications traps when an LSP's OAM detection reports a failure, giving early warning of MPLS path faults before customer traffic is impacted. It logically depends on/complements standard MPLS-LSR/MPLS-TE MIBs (since h3cMplsOamIgrLspName/h3cMplsOamIgrLspId reference LSPs configured via MPLS signaling) though no formal import is stated. It is typically deployed on H3C MPLS provider-edge/core routers carrying VPN or TE traffic where LSP-level fault detection is required. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the H3C-MPLSOAM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in H3C-MPLSOAM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C MPLS provider-edge/core routers

Monitoring Examples

Polling h3cMplsOamIgrTable / h3cMplsOamIgrEntry indexed by h3cMplsOamIgrIndex shows h3cMplsOamIgrLspName, h3cMplsOamIgrDetectType, and h3cMplsOamIgrDetectFreq for each monitored LSP, and h3cMplsOamIgrEnable confirms detection is actively running. A trap delivered through h3cMplsOamNotifications when h3cMplsOamIgrRevLspName's reverse path fails to respond signals an LSP connectivity fault requiring investigation. h3cMplsOamCapability and h3cMplsOamTrapOpen confirm the device supports OAM and has trap generation enabled.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-LSP OAM detection type and frequency
  • LSP OAM enable state
  • reverse LSP path for detection
  • LSP connectivity fault traps
  • device MPLS OAM capability

RFC description

H3C (Huawei subsidiary) vendor MIB for MPLS OAM (Operations, Administration, Maintenance) on enterprise routers and switches; defines OIDs for MPLS path monitoring.

Start monitoring H3C MPLS provider-edge/core router (MPLS OAM/LSP fault detection) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
