Description: Huawei MPLS LSR extensions MIB providing Huawei-specific extensions to standard MPLS LSR management objects.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-MPLSLSR-EXT-MIB?

HUAWEI-MPLSLSR-EXT-MIB is a Huawei extension to the standards-track MPLS-LSR-STD-MIB, adding Huawei-specific MPLS Label Switch Router configuration and status objects for basic MPLS enablement and label advertisement policy. It covers global MPLS setup (hwMplsLsrId, hwMplsCapabilityConfig, hwMplsLabelAdvertise — explicit/implicit/non-null label policy), MPLS BFD fast-failure-detection parameters (hwMplsBfdCapabilityConfig, hwMplsBfdMinTx/MinRx, hwMplsBfdDetectMultiplier, and trigger policy via hwMplsBfdTrigger/hwMplsFecListTable), per-interface MPLS MTU and enablement (hwMplsInterfaceTable), static LDP fast-reroute backup paths (hwLdpStaticFrrInterfaceTable), LDP virtual tunnel status (hwLdpVirtualTunnelTable, with up/down/testing state and associated notifications hwMplsLdpVirtualTunnelUp/Down), and static LSP provisioning (hwMplsStaticLspTable, covering ingress/transit/egress/ingress-bind-tunnel LSP types with in/out labels and next-hop/destination). Monitoring this MIB reveals whether MPLS BFD sessions and LDP virtual tunnels are up, whether static LSPs and FRR backup paths are correctly provisioned, and whether label advertisement policy matches intent — all of which affect MPLS forwarding correctness and failover speed, and it depends on the underlying MPLS-LSR-STD-MIB framework it extends and on IF-MIB for interface indexing. It is deployed on Huawei MPLS-capable routers, and network engineers perform a HUAWEI-MPLSLSR-EXT-MIB download to load it into their MIB browser when managing these routers.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-MPLSLSR-EXT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei routers (MPLS Label Switch Router extensions)

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls hwLdpVirtualTunnelTable to check hwLdpVirtualStatus for a given tunnel index; a status of down accompanied by an hwMplsLdpVirtualTunnelDown notification would indicate the LDP virtual tunnel has failed and traffic mapped to it is at risk of being dropped.

What Can Be Monitored

  • MPLS LSR ID and capability enablement state
  • label advertisement policy configuration
  • MPLS BFD session parameters and trigger policy
  • LDP virtual tunnel up/down status
  • static LDP FRR backup interface entries
  • static LSP provisioning (labels, next hop, destination)
