What Is HUAWEI-MPLSOAM-MIB?
HUAWEI-MPLSOAM-MIB is a vendor-specific Huawei MIB for configuring and monitoring MPLS OAM (Operations, Administration, and Maintenance) functionality, used to verify connectivity and detect faults on MPLS Label Switched Paths (LSPs) across Huawei routers and switches. It exposes objects for configuring OAM sessions/tests, such as connectivity verification, and reporting fault detection results for LSPs. Its monitoring value is centered on network/software fault status -- detecting LSP connectivity failures or degradation -- rather than physical hardware sensors like temperature or power. It builds on and complements standard MPLS MIBs (e.g., MPLS-LSR-MIB, MPLS-TE-MIB) since MPLS OAM operates against LSPs defined by those base MPLS MIBs. It is deployed by service providers and enterprises running Huawei MPLS-enabled routers to proactively detect LSP faults and reduce MPLS network maintenance costs. Monitoring Examples
Sample objects were not enumerated for this MIB, but based on its description an administrator would configure and poll MPLS OAM connectivity-verification sessions to confirm an LSP is passing traffic correctly end-to-end. A failed or timed-out OAM check would reveal a broken or misconfigured LSP segment before it causes a customer-visible outage.
