Description: Huawei IPFPM (IP Flow Performance Measurement) MIB for measuring packet loss, delay, and jitter on IP flows per Y.1731 and RFC 6374.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-IPFPM-MIB?

HUAWEI-IPFPM-MIB is a Huawei enterprise MIB implementing IP Flow Performance Measurement (IPFPM), a framework aligned with ITU-T Y.1731 and IETF RFC 6374 for measuring packet loss, delay, and jitter on specific IP flows using cooperating roles: a Measurement Control Point (MCP), Data Collecting Points (DCP), and Target Logic Points (TLP). It exposes objects to configure measurement sessions between these roles and to retrieve the resulting per-flow performance statistics collected by the TLPs and reported up through the DCPs to the MCP. Its monitoring focus is performance/SLA-oriented: per-flow packet-loss ratio, one-way/two-way delay, and jitter measurements that reveal degrading network paths affecting latency-sensitive services. It explicitly builds on the ITU-T Y.1731 and IETF RFC 6374 performance-measurement standards for its underlying measurement model. It is deployed on Huawei carrier routers/switches in networks carrying performance-sensitive traffic (e.g., mobile backhaul, MPLS/VPN services) where operators need to verify SLA compliance for specific IP flows. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-IPFPM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-IPFPM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei carrier routers/switches supporting IPFPM

Monitoring Examples

No object names were captured for this module, so specific OIDs cannot be cited; based on the module description, an admin would typically configure a measurement session between an MCP and TLP and then poll the resulting per-flow packet-loss, delay, and jitter statistics to detect an SLA-violating IP flow experiencing congestion or a failing path.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-flow packet loss ratio
  • per-flow delay/latency
  • per-flow jitter
  • measurement session status
