Description: Huawei loop detection MIB providing configuration and trap objects for detecting and automatically disabling Ethernet switching loops.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-LOOPDETECT-MIB?

HUAWEI-LOOPDETECT-MIB is a Huawei Technologies co.,Ltd. proprietary MIB implementing port loop detection, which identifies and blocks a port looped back on itself. Its config table, keyed by port, records port name, detect enable, auto-block flag, block time, priority, trigger condition, and status, alongside enabled/disabled/blocked/unblocked notifications. As a configuration/notification MIB it lets an administrator confirm which ports are blocked due to a detected loop on a Huawei switch. It is deployed on Huawei Technologies switching equipment (loop detection). Engineers can download the HUAWEI-LOOPDETECT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-LOOPDETECT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei Technologies switching equipment (loop detection)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator receives hwLoopDetectBlocked and checks hwLoopDetectCfgSta to confirm a looped port was blocked on a Huawei switch.

What Can Be Monitored

  • port loopback detection and block status
