Description: Huawei EVC (Ethernet Virtual Connection) MIB for managing Metro Ethernet Forum service instances and EVC definitions on Huawei carrier Ethernet platforms.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HUAWEI-EVC-MIB?
HUAWEI-EVC-MIB manages Ethernet Virtual Connections on Huawei carrier Ethernet platforms, implementing Metro Ethernet Forum-style service instance concepts for Carrier Ethernet service delivery. It exposes configuration objects for defining EVCs under a system or bridge-domain view, mapping customer service instances to underlying bridge-domains and physical/logical ports. Its monitoring role centers on service/software configuration status: operators can verify EVC definitions are correctly provisioned and check the operational state of each EVC to confirm a customer's Carrier Ethernet service is up and correctly mapped. It aligns conceptually with MEF EVC standards though implemented as a Huawei-private MIB, and depends on Huawei's bridge-domain and interface constructs for its underlying transport. It is deployed on Huawei carrier Ethernet switches and metro routers used by service providers to deliver Carrier Ethernet (E-Line/E-LAN) services. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-EVC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-EVC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Huawei carrier Ethernet switches
- Huawei metro routers
Monitoring Examples
A service provider's NMS would poll the EVC table to confirm a given customer's EVC is correctly bound to its bridge-domain and to check the EVC's operational status. If an EVC shows as configured but operationally down, that would point to a problem in the underlying bridge-domain or port mapping rather than the service definition itself. No concrete sample object names were available in the source data for this MIB.
What Can Be Monitored
- EVC configuration/provisioning state
- EVC-to-bridge-domain mapping
- EVC operational status
