Description: Huawei MIB covering a mix of LAN switch features, including port security, storm control, and general system configuration objects.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HUAWEI-LswMix-MIB?

HUAWEI-LswMix-MIB is a Huawei LAN switch MIB that bundles miscellaneous, chassis-level management objects for Huawei switches that don't fit into a single dedicated feature MIB, including main processing unit (MPU) switchover tracking, slot/board inventory, and crossbar fabric status. Its objects span hardware inventory and status, board presence and status per slot, crossbar switch fabric health, as well as system-level events like MPU active/standby switchovers. This module is explicitly hardware-status oriented: it reports the physical board status of each slot via hwLswXSlotTable/hwLswXSlotEntry, the health of the main control board via hwLswMainCardBoardStatus, the crossbar switching fabric's condition via hwLswCrossBarStatus, and records of when and how often the MPU has switched over via hwLswLastSwitchDate/hwLswLastSwitchTime and hwLswMpuSwitchsNum/hwLswMpuSwitch, all central to detecting hardware faults or unplanned failovers in modular chassis switches. It is a Huawei-proprietary module without direct standards-based dependency, layered on top of the switch's own chassis management architecture. It is typically deployed on modular, dual-MPU Huawei switches in data center or core network roles where high availability and hardware redundancy are important, and the HUAWEI-LswMix-MIB download is available to administrators who want to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-LswMix-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Huawei modular chassis switches

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll hwLswMpuSwitchsNum and hwLswLastSwitchDate/hwLswLastSwitchTime to track how often and when the active MPU has failed over to standby, and walk hwLswXSlotTable/hwLswXSlotEntry to confirm every populated slot reports a healthy hwLswMainCardBoardStatus. An unexpected increment in the switchover counter or a slot reporting a fault status in hwLswCrossBarStatus would indicate a hardware failure or instability in the chassis's redundancy fabric.

What Can Be Monitored

  • MPU switchover count/history
  • slot/board status
  • main control board status
  • crossbar fabric status
