Description: Manages Link Aggregation Group (LAG/LACP) configuration and member port status on HP/Comware switches.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HPN-ICF-LAG-MIB?
HPN-ICF-LAG-MIB is an HP Networking (Comware/ICF platform) MIB that manages Link Aggregation Group (LAG) and LACP configuration on HP switches, extending the standard IEEE 802.3ad link aggregation model with vendor-specific attributes. It exposes data about aggregated port groups, LACP negotiation parameters, and the operational membership state of individual physical ports within each aggregate. In terms of hardware/software status monitoring, it lets administrators verify that member ports are correctly bundled and actively passing traffic, detect ports that have dropped out of an aggregate due to link or negotiation failure, and confirm LACP protocol state consistency across a trunk. It builds on and extends the standard LACP/802.3ad and dot3adAgg MIB framework rather than replacing it. It is typically deployed on HP/H3C Comware-based switches in data center or campus networks where multiple physical links are bonded into a single logical trunk for bandwidth and redundancy. Engineers can download the HPN-ICF-LAG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HPN-ICF-LAG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- HP/H3C Comware-based network switches
Monitoring Examples
Since no sample_objects were provided for this MIB, exact table names cannot be grounded from source data, but consistent with its LACP-extension purpose an administrator would poll a LAG member table (an ICF-specific extension of the standard dot3adAggPortTable) to check each port's aggregation state and selected/standby status. A port unexpectedly shown as not selected or in an individual (non-aggregated) state would reveal a failed LACP negotiation or a misconfigured trunk member. This MIB is best understood as a configuration/status extension layered on the IEEE 802.3ad LACP MIB.
What Can Be Monitored
- LAG/trunk member port status
- LACP negotiation state
- aggregated link membership
- port selected/standby status
