Description: H3C MIB for port security management limiting MAC addresses per port to prevent unauthorized network access.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is H3C-PORT-SECURITY-MIB?

H3C-PORT-SECURITY-MIB is a Huawei-3COM Technologies proprietary MIB (extending IEEE8021-PAE-MIB) managing port security and 802.1X-based RALM (Remote Access LAN Module) authentication. Its objects cover a global port-security control and VLAN-membership list, RALM default session time/holdoff time/reauthenticate flag, auth mode/username/password/domain/offline time/server-timeout, a MAC-control setting, a port table (mode, need-to-know mode, intrusion action, current/stored/max address counts), and a secure-address table (MAC, VLAN ID, status). As a configuration/security MIB it lets an administrator confirm port-security mode and intrusion-action policy and audit learned secure MAC addresses on an H3C switch. It is deployed on H3C (3Com-Huawei) switches. Engineers can download the H3C-PORT-SECURITY-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in H3C-PORT-SECURITY-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C (3Com-Huawei) switches

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks h3cSecureIntrusionAction and h3cSecureAddressTable to confirm port-security enforcement and learned MAC addresses on an H3C switch.

What Can Be Monitored

  • port-security mode, intrusion action, and secure-address table
