Category: Protocol: DHCP, Vendor: H3C/HH3C, Vendor: HP/HPE

Description: HP Networking ICF SNMP MIB for DHCP server pool management, option configuration, and lease tracking on HP networking devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HPN-ICF-DHCPS-MIB?

HPN-ICF-DHCPS-MIB is an H3C/HPE Networking (ICF = Industry Common Framework) proprietary MIB managing the built-in DHCP server. Its global-pool table, keyed by name, records row status, while a pool-configuration table records pool type, network/mask, host IP/mask/hardware address, and an undo-config flag, a lease-parameter table records lease day/hour/minute and an unlimited-lease flag, domain name, client gateway/DNS IP (with undo flags), and NetBIOS node type. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm a DHCP pool's address range, lease time, and handed-out gateway/DNS options. It is deployed on H3C/HPE Networking (ICF-based) routers/switches running a local DHCP server. Engineers can download the HPN-ICF-DHCPS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HPN-ICF-DHCPS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C/HPE Networking (ICF-based) routers/switches (DHCP server)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks hpnicfDHCPSGlobalPoolLeaseDay and hpnicfDHCPSGlobalPoolClientDNSIPString to confirm the lease time and DNS option handed out by a local DHCP pool on an H3C/HPE ICF device.

What Can Be Monitored

  • DHCP pool address range, lease time, and handed-out options
