What Is HPN-ICF-ACFP-MIB?
HPN-ICF-ACFP-MIB is an HP Networking (Comware ICF) MIB supporting the Application Control Forwarding Protocol (ACFP), a mechanism that lets third-party service appliances register with and receive traffic-steering instructions from HP routers/switches. It exposes server-side configuration (rule lifetime, persistent rules, context type) and a client registration table listing each connected ACFP client's identity, IP address, and version information. Its monitoring value is largely about the health and identity of attached service partners rather than the router's own hardware: administrators can confirm which client appliances are currently registered, their hardware/OS/application versions, and whether stale or unexpected clients are present. It is a vendor-specific (HP/Comware ICF) extension with no dependency on external IETF MIBs beyond standard SNMP framework MIBs. It is typically deployed on HP/H3C Comware-based routers and switches that integrate with third-party security or optimization appliances via ACFP. Engineers can download the HPN-ICF-ACFP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

Monitoring Examples
An administrator polls hpnicfAcfpClientInfoTable/hpnicfAcfpClientInfoEntry to review each registered client's hpnicfAcfpClientID, hpnicfAcfpClientIP, hpnicfAcfpClientHwVersion, and hpnicfAcfpClientOSVersion. If a previously-registered client disappears from the table, or hpnicfAcfpClientAppVersion shows an unexpectedly old version, it flags a lost registration or an out-of-date service appliance. hpnicfAcfpServerMaxLifetime and hpnicfAcfpServerCurContextType show the server-side rule expiration policy governing how long those client registrations remain valid.
