What Is COLUBRIS-TC?
COLUBRIS-TC is a textual-conventions-only MIB module originally from Colubris Networks (later acquired by HP) for its wireless networking product line. It defines shared enumerated types and reusable data type conventions that other Colubris/HP wireless MIB modules reference for consistency, rather than defining any manageable objects itself. Because it contains no scalars or tables, it exposes no hardware or software status data directly and is not something an operator would poll for uptime, temperature, or CPU/memory metrics. Its dependency relationship is definitional: every other Colubris wireless MIB module imports type definitions from this module, so compiling any of those functional MIBs requires that the COLUBRIS-TC MIB file be present first. It is deployed purely as a compile-time support MIB alongside the functional Colubris/HP wireless access point and controller MIBs.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in COLUBRIS-TC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Colubris/HP wireless access points and controllers
Monitoring Examples
COLUBRIS-TC has no sample objects because it is a conformance/textual-convention module rather than a data-bearing one; it defines TEXTUAL-CONVENTION types (enumerations, string formats) that are imported by name into other Colubris MIBs. There is no realistic monitoring scenario for this module in isolation — it must be loaded so that dependent MIBs' object definitions resolve, but it supplies no OIDs to poll.
