Description: HP ICF SNMP MIB for sFlow traffic sampling configuration, receiver settings, and sample export on HP ProCurve switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HP-ICF-SFLOW-MIB?

HP-ICF-SFLOW-MIB is an HP proprietary SNMP module for configuring sFlow, a packet-sampling and traffic-export technology, on HP ProCurve switches. It exposes configuration objects for sFlow receivers (the collector servers that traffic samples are sent to), sampling rates, and per-port sampling settings, making it primarily a traffic-monitoring configuration MIB. In terms of device status, this MIB is more about verifying that the sFlow feature/software is correctly configured and actively exporting samples than about hardware sensors, though sFlow itself is a mechanism used to derive broader traffic performance insight. It depends on the general sFlow standard (as defined by sFlow.org) for its sampling and export protocol semantics, mapped into HP's proprietary object tree. It is typically deployed in data center and campus networks where administrators want lightweight, sampled visibility into traffic patterns across many switch ports without full packet capture overhead. Engineers can download the HP-ICF-SFLOW-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HP-ICF-SFLOW-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • HP ProCurve switch

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were captured for this module, but based on its function, it would be expected to expose a receiver table (holding collector IP address, port, and timeout) and a per-interface sampling-rate table. An administrator would poll these to confirm that sFlow samples are still being sent to the configured collector at the expected rate, and a receiver entry reverting to a default or timed-out state would indicate a lost connection to the sFlow analyzer. This MIB is a configuration-state module supporting the sFlow feature rather than a hardware-health module.

What Can Be Monitored

  • sFlow receiver/collector configuration
  • sampling rate per port
  • sFlow feature enable state
