Description: Hirschmann HiOS (HM2) time range MIB for defining time-based scheduling objects used in ACL and policy rules.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HM2-PLATFORM-TIMERANGE-MIB?
HM2-PLATFORM-TIMERANGE-MIB is a Hirschmann private HiOS MIB for defining named time ranges - absolute and, by structure, periodic - that are referenced by ACL and policy rules on Hirschmann managed switches to enforce time-based network policies. It exposes a time-range table with index, name, admin mode, operational state, and row status, plus an absolute sub-table carrying specific start dates and times, so it is largely configuration data. Its monitoring value is in confirming whether a scheduled ACL or policy is currently active (operational state) and that time-range rows are correctly provisioned, rather than physical hardware conditions. It is designed to work alongside the switch's ACL/policy features found elsewhere in Hirschmann's HM2 MIB family. It is deployed on Hirschmann industrial switches implementing scheduled, time-of-day-based access control policies. Engineers can download the HM2-PLATFORM-TIMERANGE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HM2-PLATFORM-TIMERANGE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Hirschmann industrial Ethernet switch
Monitoring Examples
hm2AgentTimeRangeTable/Entry rows, keyed by hm2AgentTimeRangeIndex, carry hm2AgentTimeRangeName and hm2AgentTimeRangeOperState; polling the operational state reveals whether a time-based ACL is currently in force or dormant. The related hm2AgentTimeRangeAbsoluteTable/Entry rows, indexed by hm2AgentTimeRangeAbsoluteEntryIndex, hold hm2AgentTimeRangeAbsoluteStartDateAndTime values that an admin cross-checks against the switch clock to confirm a scheduled policy change fires at the intended time, while hm2AgentTimeRangeIndexNextFree indicates the next free index for provisioning a new range.
What Can Be Monitored
- time range operational state
- time range admin mode
- named time range list
- absolute start date/time entries
- next free time range index
