Description: HH3C MIB for Secure Shell (SSH) server and client configuration on H3C devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-SSH-MIB?

HH3C-SSH-MIB is a private H3C enterprise MIB for configuring and monitoring the SSH, SFTP, SCP, and secure Telnet server subsystems on H3C network devices. It exposes configuration data such as protocol version compatibility, key rekey intervals, and authentication retry/timeout settings, as well as service-enablement flags and per-user SSH account configuration. Its monitoring value lies in confirming the software state of secure management services — whether the SSH/SFTP/SCP/secure-Telnet daemons are enabled and which authentication parameters are in effect — which is important for both operational access and security posture assurance rather than physical hardware status. It commonly complements H3C's user and AAA MIBs since SSH login ultimately maps to configured user accounts and access levels. This MIB is deployed on H3C routers and switches that support SSH-based secure remote management. Engineers can download the HH3C-SSH-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-SSH-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C routers
  • H3C switches

Monitoring Examples

An administrator can check hh3cSSHServerEnable, hh3cSFTPServerEnable, hh3cSCPServerEnable, and hh3cSTelnetServerEnable to confirm which secure management services are currently active on the device. hh3cSSHUserConfigTable (via hh3cSSHUserConfigEntry) lets them audit per-user SSH configuration, while hh3cSSHServerAuthRetries and hh3cSSHServerAuthTimeout reveal whether brute-force protection settings are tightened appropriately. A change in hh3cSSHServerRekeyInterval outside policy would flag a configuration drift worth investigating.

What Can Be Monitored

  • SSH server enabled status
  • SFTP/SCP/secure-Telnet service status
  • SSH protocol version compatibility
  • authentication retry count and timeout
  • per-user SSH configuration
  • key rekey interval
