Category: Cisco Devices, MPLS and Traffic Engineering, SNMP Framework

Description: Declares SNMP agent capabilities for the Cisco IETF Fast Reroute MIB on various IOS platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-IETF-FRR-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-IETF-FRR-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module indicating which parts of the CISCO-IETF-FRR-MIB (Fast Reroute, an MPLS traffic-engineering resiliency feature) are supported by a given Cisco IOS platform's SNMP agent. It belongs to Cisco's MPLS/traffic-engineering MIB family and, being a capabilities module, exposes no runtime tables, counters, or notifications of its own. It serves management systems needing to confirm FRR MIB feature-level conformance across different IOS platforms and versions before polling live FRR data. Its dependency is on the CISCO-IETF-FRR-MIB it profiles. It applies to Cisco routers running MPLS Fast Reroute. Engineers can download the CISCO-IETF-FRR-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-IETF-FRR-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco routers running MPLS Fast Reroute (FRR)

Monitoring Examples

This is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES module, not a runtime data source; it only lists which CISCO-IETF-FRR-MIB groups are implemented on a particular Cisco IOS platform.
