Description: HH3C MIB for Policy-Based Routing (PBR) configuration and operational status on H3C devices.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HH3C-PBR-MIB?
HH3C-PBR-MIB is an H3C-specific MIB that manages configuration and failure notification for Policy-Based Routing (PBR) — routing IP packets according to user-defined policy rather than pure destination-based routing — on H3C switches and routers. It is a compact module: hh3cPBRNexthopTrapEnabled is a global boolean that must be set true before the feature's notifications will fire, and the single hh3cPBRNexthopFailedTrap notification carries hh3cPBRNexthopAddrType and hh3cPBRNexthopAddr to identify which PBR next-hop address (IPv4 or IPv6) has become unreachable according to routing information. Because it defines no ongoing counters or tables, its entire monitoring value is in this one trap: receiving hh3cPBRNexthopFailedTrap tells an operator that a PBR apply-clause's configured next hop is currently unreachable, meaning matched traffic may be falling back to normal destination-based routing or being dropped. It depends on INET-ADDRESS-MIB for its address-type/address objects and the HH3C-OID-MIB enterprise tree, and is deployed on H3C routing/switching platforms configured with policy-based routing; engineers troubleshooting PBR failover behavior often look up the HH3C-PBR-MIB download to confirm the exact trap varbinds before wiring it into their trap receiver.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-PBR-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- H3C (Hangzhou H3C Technologies) routers and switches
Monitoring Examples
An operator enables hh3cPBRNexthopTrapEnabled and watches for hh3cPBRNexthopFailedTrap notifications carrying hh3cPBRNexthopAddr; receiving this trap for a next hop that should be reachable indicates a PBR apply-clause is currently failing over or dropping matched traffic.
What Can Be Monitored
- PBR next-hop trap enable/disable state
- PBR next-hop unreachable notification
- next-hop address type (IPv4/IPv6)
- next-hop address value in trap
