Category: Technology: Multicast, Vendor: H3C/HH3C

Description: Manages IGMP snooping multicast group membership and port filtering on H3C Layer 2 switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-LswIGSP-MIB?

HH3C-LswIGSP-MIB is an H3C (Hangzhou H3C Technologies) private MIB that manages IGMP snooping on H3C Layer 2 switches, controlling how multicast group membership is learned and pruned per port and VLAN. Global objects (hh3cIgmpSnoopingStatus, hh3cIgmpSnoopingRouterPortAge, hh3cIgmpSnoopingResponseTime, hh3cIgmpSnoopingHostTime) configure snooping and aging behavior, while hh3cIgmpSnoopingGroupLimitTable and hh3cIgmpSnoopingFastLeaveTable set per-interface group-count caps and fast-leave behavior. hh3cIgmpSnoopingGroupPolicyTable applies ACL-based group-filtering policy per interface/VLAN pair, and hh3cIgmpSnoopingVlanStatusTable toggles snooping per VLAN. A statistics subtree (hh3cRecvIGMPGQueryNum, hh3cRecvIGMPSQueryNum, hh3cRecvIGMPV1ReportNum/V2ReportNum, hh3cRecvIGMPLeaveNum, hh3cRecvErrorIGMPPacketNum, hh3cSentIGMPSQueryNum) counts IGMP protocol packets seen and sent by the switch, giving visibility into multicast control-plane health. It is deployed on H3C switches carrying IPTV or other multicast traffic, alongside standard bridge and VLAN MIBs, for HH3C-LswIGSP-MIB MIB based multicast-snooping diagnostics.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-LswIGSP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C Layer 2 switches

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls hh3cRecvErrorIGMPPacketNum and hh3cRecvIGMPLeaveNum over time to check for malformed IGMP traffic or unusually frequent group leaves on a switch, and checks hh3cIgmpSnoopingGroupLimitNumber against actual group counts; a rising error-packet counter combined with a group count pinned at its configured limit would indicate a misbehaving multicast source or a limit that needs raising.

What Can Be Monitored

  • IGMP snooping global enable/aging settings
  • per-interface group-count limit
  • fast-leave status per interface
  • group filtering policy per VLAN
  • per-VLAN snooping enable state
  • IGMP query/report/leave/error packet counters
