Category: Domain: Subscriber Management, Vendor: H3C/HH3C

Description: Manages H3C Broadband Link Gateway functions, covering subscriber sessions and access line aggregation.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-BLG-MIB?

HH3C-BLG-MIB is an H3C enterprise MIB for Balance Group (BLG) functionality, used to aggregate and load-balance traffic across broadband access links, with a focus on subscriber session and access-line aggregation statistics. It exposes per-balance-group traffic counters covering transmitted/received packet and byte counts for each configured group. Its main monitoring value is performance/traffic status rather than hardware health: hh3cBlgGroupTxPacketCount/RxPacketCount and TxByteCount/RxByteCount let an operator track throughput per balance group and detect asymmetric or stalled traffic flow, with hh3cBlgGroupCountClear available to reset counters for a fresh measurement window. It is a self-contained H3C enterprise MIB with no evident dependency on external standard MIBs beyond standard indexing conventions. It is typically deployed on H3C broadband access/aggregation routers handling subscriber traffic balanced across multiple uplinks, and network engineers can download the HH3C-BLG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser or NMS.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-BLG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C broadband access/aggregation router

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll hh3cBlgStatsTable/hh3cBlgStatsEntry indexed by hh3cBlgIndex to compare hh3cBlgGroupTxPacketCount/hh3cBlgGroupRxPacketCount and the corresponding byte counters across balance group members, spotting a member link carrying disproportionately little traffic, which could indicate a failed or misconfigured aggregation member. hh3cBlgGroupCountClear could then be invoked to reset the counters before re-baselining traffic after a fix.

What Can Be Monitored

  • balance group transmit packet count
  • balance group receive packet count
  • balance group transmit byte count
  • balance group receive byte count

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using hh3cBlgGroupTxPacketCount OID:

Select an H3C broadband access/aggregation router (Balance Group traffic) as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type hh3cBlgGroupTxPacketCount into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, selecting the specific row/instance you want to monitor since this is a table column, then select it and click OK. It reports the when retrieved, this object returns the count of packets the balance group has sent. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is a Counter64-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the counter increases sharply between polls relative to its normal baseline, since an unexpected spike often reflects a real change in traffic or activity. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
