Description: Huawei PGI (Policy and Group Interface) MIB for managing subscriber group-based traffic policies in broadband networks.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HUAWEI-PGI-MIB?
HUAWEI-PGI-MIB is a Huawei enterprise MIB covering the Port Group Isolation (PGI) feature found on Huawei switches and routers used in broadband and campus networks. It exposes configuration and status data describing how physical or logical ports are grouped and isolated from one another for traffic-forwarding control, essentially a Layer 2 access-control/segmentation feature. In monitoring terms it is used chiefly to verify configuration state and operational status of port groups rather than hardware health, letting an administrator confirm that isolation policies are active and correctly applied on the device. As a Huawei private MIB it depends on Huawei's common enterprise MIB conventions and typically sits alongside other hwDatacomm modules on the same device rather than referencing IETF standards directly. It is deployed on Huawei enterprise switches where port-based traffic isolation between hosts on the same VLAN is required. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-PGI-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-PGI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Huawei enterprise switch
- Huawei broadband access device
Monitoring Examples
Since no sample_objects were provided, a typical PGI table would follow a hwPgiPortTable/hwPgiPortEntry pattern indexed by ifIndex, with columns for isolation group ID and admin/oper isolation status. An administrator would poll such a table to confirm that a port assigned to an isolation group is correctly blocked from peer-to-peer forwarding, and a mismatch between configured and operational isolation state would reveal a misconfiguration or a switch that failed to apply the policy after reload.
What Can Be Monitored
- port group isolation status
- isolation group membership
- per-port isolation admin state
- isolation policy operational state
