Description: H3C MIB for Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) monitoring including battery status, input/output power, and alarms.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is H3C-UPS-MIB?
H3C-UPS-MIB is an H3C-specific MIB for monitoring Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units attached to or managed alongside H3C network equipment, tracking battery status, input/output power characteristics, and alarm conditions for the connected UPS. It exposes a UPS configuration table keyed by index, capturing UPS type and management IP address alongside enable/disable control for UPS monitoring itself. This is directly a power-hardware health MIB: it is designed to let an operator detect a UPS on battery power, a failing battery, or an input-power loss condition, critical early-warning signals before a full site power outage takes down networking equipment. No deeper battery/alarm-level sample objects were captured here beyond the config table, but the module description confirms battery status and input/output power/alarms are in scope elsewhere in the module. Typical deployment context is an H3C switch/router deployment where a nearby UPS is polled (via its own management IP) to give the network device visibility into the health of its power backup. Engineers can download the H3C-UPS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in H3C-UPS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- H3C switches/routers with attached/managed UPS units
Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll h3cUpsConfigTable/h3cUpsConfigEntry, keyed by h3cUpsIndex, checking h3cUpsConfigEnable to confirm UPS monitoring is turned on and h3cUpsType/h3cUpsIpAddress to identify which UPS unit and management address is associated with a given entry. If h3cUpsConfigEnable is unexpectedly disabled, an operator would know why battery/alarm status for that UPS isn't being reported. Deeper battery charge, runtime, and alarm objects referenced in the module description but not in the captured sample would be the ones actually revealing an in-progress power event such as a battery running low during an outage.
What Can Be Monitored
- UPS monitoring enabled state
- UPS type
- UPS management IP address
- per-UPS index configuration
