Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is FspR7-MIB?

FspR7-MIB is an ADVA Optical Networking proprietary MIB (extending the standard ENTITY-MIB) reporting network-element identification and system configuration on the ADVA FSP3000R7 DWDM transport platform. Its objects cover system ID/type, auto-provisioning enable, NE type, software version, grade inventory, model, vendor ID, AINS (Automatic In-Service) provisioning enable and default timer, preferred facility type, a force-delete action, SDH/OTN severely-errored-second thresholds, topology type, database serial number/type, rack size, database NCU (Network Control Unit) type/AID, last restart mode, system IP address/mask, area ID, and backup-SCU availability. As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm a network element's software version and AINS provisioning settings before turning up a new DWDM circuit. It is deployed on the ADVA FSP3000R7 DWDM transport platform. Engineers can download the FspR7-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in FspR7-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ADVA FSP3000R7 DWDM transport platform

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks neAINSProvEnabled and neAINSDefaultTimer to confirm Automatic In-Service provisioning is configured as expected before activating a new circuit on an ADVA FSP3000R7 network element.

What Can Be Monitored

  • network element identification and AINS provisioning configuration
