Description: HP SNMP MIB for hot-swap subsystem management monitoring hot-pluggable component state and status in HP server systems.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HPHOTSWAP2SUBSYSTEM-MIB?
HPHOTSWAP2SUBSYSTEM-MIB is a Compaq/HP proprietary MIB (enterprise OID 11) reporting hot-swap SCSI cage subsystem status on Compaq/HP server hardware. Its cage table, keyed by cage index, reports 12V power presence, terminator status for two positions, and SCSI cable presence for two cable slots, alongside a MIB-revision pair. As a hardware-status MIB it lets an administrator confirm a hot-swap drive cage's power, termination, and cabling are all correctly in place before or after a hot-swap drive-replacement operation. It is deployed on Compaq/HP servers with hot-swappable SCSI drive cages. Engineers can download the HPHOTSWAP2SUBSYSTEM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HPHOTSWAP2SUBSYSTEM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Compaq/HP servers with hot-swappable SCSI drive cages
Monitoring Examples
A technician checks hpnsaHS2Cage12VPower and both terminator/cable status objects for a cage before performing a hot-swap drive replacement, to confirm the cage's power and cabling are healthy beforehand.
What Can Be Monitored
- cage power presence, terminator status, and SCSI cable presence
