Description: Fujitsu Siemens Computers MIB for monitoring RAID controller status, logical drives, and physical disk health.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is FSC-RAID-MIB?

FSC-RAID-MIB is a vendor MIB from Fujitsu Siemens Computers (FSC, now Fujitsu) for monitoring the RAID subsystem of its server hardware, covering RAID controllers, logical drives, and physical disks. It exposes fault/status data (svrStatus family) and inventory/configuration data (svrCtrlTable of controller entries, svrNumberRaidControllers), placing it squarely in the storage health-monitoring category. It is explicitly built for hardware status monitoring: svrStatusOverall, svrStatusControllers, svrStatusLogicalDrives, and svrStatusPhysicalDevices give at-a-glance rollup health states for the whole RAID subsystem down to individual disks, letting an admin detect a degraded array, failed disk, or offline controller. The MIB also reports its own management agent's identity and version (svrAgentId, svrAgentCompany, svrAgentVersion, svrAgentBuild), useful for confirming which agent software build is reporting the data; it does not appear to depend on other MIBs for its core storage objects. It is typically deployed on Fujitsu Siemens PRIMERGY servers with hardware RAID controllers monitored via ServerView or similar systems-management agents. Engineers can download the FSC-RAID-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in FSC-RAID-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Fujitsu Siemens PRIMERGY servers
  • hardware RAID controllers

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll svrStatusOverall for a quick health rollup, then drill into svrCtrlTable (via svrCtrlEntry, indexed by svrCtrlNr) and svrStatusLogicalDrives/svrStatusPhysicalDevices to identify which specific controller, logical drive, or physical disk has moved out of an OK state. A physical device status transitioning to a degraded or failed value while svrStatusControllers still reports healthy would reveal a single failed disk in a redundant array that needs replacement before a second failure causes data loss.

What Can Be Monitored

  • overall RAID subsystem status
  • controller status
  • logical drive status
  • physical disk status
  • number of RAID controllers
  • management agent version/build
