What Is Dell-VRTX-CDB-MIB?
This is a small Dell private enterprise MIB for the Dell PowerEdge VRTX converged infrastructure/blade chassis, exposing configuration-database (CDB) related state objects. It offers only two runtime objects: a flag indicating whether the startup configuration database has changed since last save, and a control object to trigger a manual reboot. Its monitoring value is narrow but useful for software/configuration status: detecting unsaved configuration changes (a pending-change/dirty-config indicator) that would be lost on reboot, and confirming whether a manual reboot has been requested. It has no notable dependency on external MIBs, being a minimal private extension. It is deployed specifically on Dell VRTX chassis management controllers where administrators need to track configuration persistence state before restarting the shared-infrastructure blade enclosure. Engineers can download the Dell-VRTX-CDB-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Dell-VRTX-CDB-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
What Can Be Monitored
- unsaved/pending configuration change flag
- manual reboot request status
Supported Devices
- Dell PowerEdge VRTX converged blade chassis
Monitoring Examples
Polling rlStartupCDBChanged tells an admin whether configuration changes made via CLI/web UI have not yet been saved to the startup configuration, warning that a reboot would roll back those changes. rlManualReboot can be read (or set) to check whether a manual reboot has been initiated on the VRTX chassis controller, useful for coordinating maintenance windows.
