Description: Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch PoE MIB for managing Power over Ethernet port power allocation, limits, and consumption statistics.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is EdgeSwitch-POWER-ETHERNET-MIB?
EdgeSwitch-POWER-ETHERNET-MIB is a Ubiquiti Networks enterprise MIB for the EdgeSwitch line that augments the standard IETF POWER-ETHERNET-MIB with vendor-specific Power over Ethernet (PoE) objects not covered by the draft standard. It exposes PSE (Power Source Equipment) port-level data such as power allocation, configured limits, and consumption statistics per port, extending the base PoE status/fault objects. Its monitoring role is centered on hardware power-delivery health — tracking how much power each port is drawing against its budget and surfacing over-current, over-budget, or power-denied conditions that indicate a connected PoE device (camera, phone, AP) is misbehaving or the switch's PoE budget is exhausted. It explicitly augments the standard POWER-ETHERNET-MIB (RFC 3621 / IEEE 802.3af/at PSE MIB) from the IETF Ethernet Interfaces and Hub MIB working group, inheriting its base tables and status codes. It's deployed on Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch models that provide PoE/PoE+ ports to powered endpoints like access points, cameras, and VoIP phones. Engineers can download the EdgeSwitch-POWER-ETHERNET-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in EdgeSwitch-POWER-ETHERNET-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Ubiquiti EdgeSwitch PoE switch
Monitoring Examples
No vendor-specific object names were provided in the source metadata beyond the reference to the standard it augments, so a concrete example draws on the base standard: an admin would read the standard pethPsePortTable entries (extended by this module's added port-power objects) to compare per-port power consumption against the configured limit, where a port hitting its power ceiling or reporting a fault code indicates an overloaded or failing powered device.
What Can Be Monitored
- per-port PoE power consumption
- PoE port power limit/allocation
- PoE fault/denied status
