What Is ERICSSON-ROUTER-BRIDGE-CAP?
ERICSSON-ROUTER-BRIDGE-CAP is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module for Ericsson's router platforms, declaring which parts of the companion ERICSSON-ROUTER-BRIDGE-MIB (a bridge and VPLS forwarding management MIB) are actually implemented by specific SEOS-based agent versions. Rather than defining its own runtime data objects, it maps supported bridge/VPLS features to particular Ericsson product families and SEOS software releases, covering platforms such as the SmartEdge Multi-service Edge Router (MSER), the SM Metro Ethernet Service Transport family, and the Smart Service Router (SSR) family. As a conformance/capabilities module it is not itself used to monitor hardware or software runtime status; instead it documents, for tooling and NMS integration purposes, which bridge/VPLS management features are available on a given SEOS software version. It explicitly depends on the ERICSSON-ROUTER-BRIDGE-MIB, whose objects it describes agent support for. It is used during NMS/EMS integration and MIB-compliance validation for Ericsson SmartEdge/SM/SSR router deployments, not for day-to-day polling. Engineers can download the ERICSSON-ROUTER-BRIDGE-CAP file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
