Description: Manages configuration parameters for Ericsson ELN (Ethernet Line Node) access network equipment.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ERICSSON-ELN-CFG-MIB?

This is an Ericsson MIB for managing configuration parameters, particularly software handling, on the ELN (Ethernet Line Node), an Ericsson access network equipment product. It exposes software/version configuration data including the currently running software version and its release time, the permanent (backup) software image, and a table of loaded software versions per slot or unit. It also exposes an action mechanism for initiating software loads/upgrades from a remote host via a specified protocol and file, making software version status and upgrade job progress the primary monitoring focus, directly relevant to firmware/software status monitoring on the device. No dependency on another standard MIB is indicated, so it functions as a self-contained Ericsson proprietary MIB. It is deployed on Ericsson ELN access nodes in carrier or enterprise access networks where remote software version tracking and upgrades are managed via SNMP. Engineers can download the ERICSSON-ELN-CFG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ERICSSON-ELN-CFG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Ericsson ELN (Ethernet Line Node) access equipment

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll elnSoftwareCurrent and elnSoftwareCurrentReleaseTime to confirm which software version is running and when it was installed, and compare it against elnSoftwarePermanent to see if a fallback image differs from the active one after a recent upgrade. Checking elnSoftwareLoadedTable / elnSoftwareLoadedEntry via elnSoftwareLoadedVersion across units, and monitoring elnSoftwareAction with elnSoftwareActionHost/elnSoftwareActionProtocol, lets the admin track an in-progress remote software download and verify it completes as expected.

What Can Be Monitored

  • current running software version
  • software release time
  • permanent/backup software version
  • loaded software version per unit
  • software upgrade action/job status
