What Is ERICSSON-ROUTER-PING-CAP?
ERICSSON-ROUTER-PING-CAP is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module that declares which parts of the separate ERICSSON-ROUTER-PING MIB are actually implemented on a given Ericsson router platform. It does not itself define or expose any management objects; instead it documents SNMP agent conformance for the ping diagnostics functionality across Ericsson's SmartEdge (SE) Multi-service Edge Router, Metro Ethernet (SM) transport, and Smart Service Router (SSR) product families, tied to specific SEOS software releases. As a pure conformance module, it has no bearing on runtime hardware or software status monitoring on its own; its practical value is helping a management system determine which ping-related MIB objects it can safely poll for a given device/software version. It is entirely dependent on, and meaningless without, the base ERICSSON-ROUTER-PING MIB that it describes conformance for. It is used internally by NMS tooling during MIB compatibility checks against Ericsson SEOS-based router platforms, not for direct operational monitoring. Engineers can download the ERICSSON-ROUTER-PING-CAP file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ERICSSON-ROUTER-PING-CAP. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
This module is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES statement, not a data-bearing MIB, so it defines no tables or objects that can be polled for monitoring; sample_objects for this module are empty because none exist. Its only function is to state, per Ericsson SEOS version and product family (SE/SM/SSR), which groups of the ERICSSON-ROUTER-PING MIB are supported, so an NMS can decide whether to attempt polling ping-diagnostic objects on a particular router.
