Category: Vendor: Dell

Description: Monitors UDP protocol statistics and manages UDP relay/helper configurations on Dell devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is Dell-UDP?

Dell-UDP is a private enterprise MIB (RND/Radlan lineage) for Dell network switches that manages UDP relay/helper (broadcast forwarding) configuration and exposes active UDP session state. It surfaces configuration data for relay rules (destination port, source interface, destination address) as well as runtime tables tracking live UDP sessions by local address/port. It supports monitoring the health and correctness of UDP broadcast-relay configurations such as DHCP/BOOTP-style forwarding, and lets an admin audit which UDP sessions are currently active, aiding diagnosis of misconfigured relay rules or unexpected traffic patterns. It relies on the general Dell/RND enterprise MIB structure and standard IP addressing conventions (InetAddressType) for its tables. It is typically deployed on Dell PowerConnect/N-series switches performing UDP broadcast forwarding in enterprise LANs, and administrators can download the Dell-UDP MIB file to load it into their MIB browser for configuration reference.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in Dell-UDP. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Dell Networking / PowerConnect switches
  • Dell RND (Radlan)-based network devices

Monitoring Examples

rsUdpRelayTable/rsUdpRelayEntry expose per-rule fields like rsUdpRelayDstPort, rsUdpRelaySrcIpInf, and rsUdpRelayDstIpAddr, letting an admin verify a UDP relay rule (e.g., DHCP broadcast forwarding) is correctly configured and enabled via rsUdpRelayStatus. Separately, rlUdpSessionTable/rlUdpSessionEntry with rlUdpSessionLocalAddrType and rlUdpSessionLocalAddr let an operator enumerate active UDP sessions to spot unexpected or stalled sessions. Polling rsUdpRelayMibVersion also confirms the supported feature revision before automating relay configuration changes.

What Can Be Monitored

  • UDP relay rule configuration
  • UDP relay destination port/address
  • UDP relay enable status
  • active UDP sessions
  • UDP session local address
