Description: Manages DoS attack prevention policy configuration and statistics on D-Link Prime switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is DLINKPRIME-DOS-PREVENT-MIB?

DLINKPRIME-DOS-PREVENT-MIB is a D-Link "Prime" series proprietary MIB covering the Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack prevention application built into certain D-Link managed switches. It exposes configuration objects for enabling and tuning DoS protection policies (which attack signatures/types are filtered) as well as statistics counters recording detected or blocked attack attempts. Its monitoring value lies primarily in security and fault visibility rather than classic hardware health: it lets an administrator confirm the DoS-prevention feature is enabled and functioning, and track counts of blocked malicious packets as an indicator of ongoing attack activity or a misconfigured policy. It is a self-contained security-feature MIB with no strong dependency on other MIBs beyond the vendor's base switch MIB tree for indexing. It is deployed on D-Link Prime-series managed switches at enterprise or SMB network edges where basic DoS mitigation is configured directly on the switch rather than via a dedicated security appliance. Engineers can download the DLINKPRIME-DOS-PREVENT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DLINKPRIME-DOS-PREVENT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • D-Link Prime-series managed switches

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would enable the DoS prevention policy through this MIB's control objects and then periodically poll its statistics counters to see how many suspicious packets have been dropped, using a rising counter as an indicator of an active attack against the switch or attached hosts. Because sample_objects for this module were not captured, no specific object names can be cited, but the module_desc confirms its scope is limited to the DoS Protection application's configuration and counters.

What Can Be Monitored

  • DoS prevention policy enable/disable state
  • blocked/detected attack packet counts
  • DoS protection feature status
