Description: Dismuntel enterprise MIB for monitoring diesel generator sets, tracking mains and generator voltage, frequency, fuel level, oil pressure, temperature, and power metrics
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is DISMUNTELv00-MIB?
This is a Dismuntel enterprise MIB for monitoring diesel generator sets used as backup or primary power sources. It exposes electrical measurement data for both the incoming mains supply and the generator output, including voltage between phases, phase-to-neutral voltage, and frequency, alongside fuel and engine parameters. Its central monitoring purpose is hardware status: tracking generator health indicators such as fuel level, oil pressure, temperature, and power output, as well as detecting mains failure or frequency deviation that would trigger a generator start. It is a standalone proprietary MIB with no apparent dependency on other standard MIBs beyond the base SNMPv2-SMI enterprise structure. It is typically deployed at facilities with backup diesel generators, such as data centers, telecom sites, or industrial buildings, where remote SNMP monitoring of the genset's electrical and mechanical status is required. Engineers can download the DISMUNTELv00-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DISMUNTELv00-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- diesel generator set / genset controller
Monitoring Examples
An operator can poll mainsFreq alongside mainsVL12, mainsVL23, and mainsVL13 (phase-to-phase voltages) and mainsVL1N/mainsVL2N/mainsVL3N (phase-to-neutral voltages) to confirm the incoming utility supply is within normal range. The equivalent genFreq, genVL12, genVL23, and genVL13 objects let the operator verify the generator is producing correctly balanced three-phase output once it starts, for example detecting an under-frequency condition (genFreq dropping below 50/60 Hz) that would indicate the generator is overloaded or malfunctioning.
What Can Be Monitored
- mains voltage (phase-to-phase and phase-to-neutral)
- mains frequency
- generator voltage (phase-to-phase and phase-to-neutral)
