Description: TERAWAVE-teraPonConfig-MIB module

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TERAWAVE-teraPonConfig-MIB?

TERAWAVE-teraPonConfig-MIB is a Terawave Communications proprietary MIB (enterprise OID 4513) configuring APON (ATM PON) parameters and reporting associated performance counters on Terawave PON access equipment. Its APON configuration table records system mode, laser mode, minimum/maximum upstream cells-per-second and kbps, maximum downstream cells-per-second/kbps, and LSB-status, while current and 15-minute-interval tables count errored seconds (ES), severely errored seconds (SES), code violations (CV), and unavailable seconds (UAS). As a configuration/performance MIB it lets an administrator confirm APON bandwidth limits and watch error-second counters for line-quality degradation. It is deployed on Terawave Communications APON access equipment. Engineers can download the TERAWAVE-teraPonConfig-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TERAWAVE-teraPonConfig-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Terawave Communications APON access equipment

Monitoring Examples

An administrator monitors teraLiteAPONCurrentSESs against the interval history to catch a PON line degrading toward severely-errored-second territory before subscribers report outages.

What Can Be Monitored

  • APON bandwidth configuration
  • errored/severely-errored second counters
