Description: D-Link enterprise MIB providing common management objects including software version, PROM firmware, hardware revision, and agent configuration for D-Link network devices

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is DLINKMGMT-MIB?

DLINKMGMT-MIB is D-Link's top-level enterprise MIB providing common management objects shared across their network device product line, including software version, PROM/boot firmware version, hardware revision, and general agent configuration parameters. It exposes primarily identification and inventory-style data about the device rather than deep operational counters, serving as the structural root under which more specific D-Link product MIBs are organized. Its monitoring role is squarely software/hardware version and identity tracking -- confirming what firmware, PROM, and hardware revision a device is running, which is essential for verifying patch/upgrade compliance and troubleshooting version-specific bugs. As a common enterprise MIB, it is typically imported as a base/prerequisite by more specific D-Link product MIBs (e.g., switch- or router-specific modules) rather than depending on external standards. It is deployed across the D-Link enterprise switch and router product line as a shared management foundation. Engineers can download the DLINKMGMT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DLINKMGMT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • D-Link switch
  • D-Link router
  • D-Link managed switches

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll the software version, PROM firmware version, and hardware revision scalar objects under this MIB to inventory exactly what code and hardware revision a fleet of D-Link devices is running, comparing results against a known-good version list. A device reporting an older software version than expected would flag it as needing a firmware upgrade before a known vulnerability patch. Because sample_objects were empty in the source, exact object names could not be confirmed, but the module_desc explicitly identifies software version, PROM firmware, and hardware revision as its core content.
