Description: IETF MIB for monitoring Diameter Credit Control Application (RFC 4006) entities used in prepaid billing and policy enforcement systems

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is DIAMETER-CC-APPLICATION-MIB?

DIAMETER-CC-APPLICATION-MIB is the standard IETF DIME (Diameter Maintenance and Extensions) Working Group MIB for entities implementing the Diameter Credit Control Application (RFC 4006), used for real-time charging/credit-control in telecom and other metered services. Its objects cover the local host's Diameter ID and IP-address table, a peer table (index, peer ID, firmware revision, storage type, status) with a peer-vendor table, and a per-peer-statistics table counting Credit-Control-Request/Answer (CCR/CCA) messages sent, received, and dropped. As a performance/protocol-status MIB it lets an administrator confirm a Diameter Credit Control peer's connection status and watch CCR/CCA message counts for signaling problems. It is deployed on network elements implementing the Diameter Credit Control Application (RFC 4006). Engineers can download the DIAMETER-CC-APPLICATION-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DIAMETER-CC-APPLICATION-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Network elements implementing Diameter Credit Control (RFC 4006)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks dccaPerPeerStatsCCRDropped to diagnose a Diameter Credit Control peer dropping charging requests, which could affect real-time billing accuracy.

What Can Be Monitored

  • Diameter Credit Control peer status and CCR/CCA message counters
