Description: L2 management MIB for D-Link DGS-3426P PoE switch covering VLANs, STP, PoE management, and L2 features.

Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is DGS3426P-L2MGMT-MIB?

DGS3426P-L2MGMT-MIB is a D-Link vendor-specific MIB for the DGS-3426P managed switch (imported under SW34XXPRIMGMT-MIB's dgs3426p branch) that covers Layer 2 device, port, and QoS management rather than a dedicated PoE feature set - despite the hint's PoE framing, the only PoE-related object found in this module is a bit position in the swDevInfoFrontPanelLedStatus LED-status octet string, with real PoE port control expected to live in a separate D-Link PoE MIB. Its swL2DevMgmt group exposes device/module inventory (swDevModuleInfoTable with module name, firmware/boot-PROM revision, and serial number) plus device-wide controls for Spanning Tree, IGMP snooping, MAC-notification, and LLDP (swL2DevCtrlStpState, swL2DevCtrlIGMPSnooping, swL2MACNotifyState, swL2DevCtrlLLDPState). swL2PortMgmt provides per-port link/negotiation status and control (swL2PortInfoLinkStatus, swL2PortInfoNwayStatus, swL2PortCtrlAdminState, swL2PortCtrlNwayState) plus per-port drop counters (swL2PortBufferFullDrops, swL2PortACLDrops, swL2PortVLANIngressDrops), and swL2QOSMgmt adds per-port bandwidth-rate limiting and hardware-queue scheduling (swL2QOSBandwidthRxRate/TxRate, swL2QOSSchedulingMechanism). It is deployed on D-Link DGS-3426P PoE switches, and engineers download the DGS3426P-L2MGMT-MIB file to monitor the switch's L2 forwarding, STP, and QoS behavior.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DGS3426P-L2MGMT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • D-Link DGS-3426P managed PoE switch

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls swL2PortInfoLinkStatus and swL2PortInfoNwayStatus for a given swL2PortInfoPortIndex, and a link-fail(3) status alongside a rising swL2PortBufferFullDrops counter on that port would indicate the port is both physically down and dropping traffic due to buffer exhaustion before the failure.

What Can Be Monitored

  • module inventory and firmware/boot-PROM revision
  • STP/IGMP-snooping/LLDP enable state
  • per-port link and auto-negotiation status
  • per-port buffer-full/ACL/VLAN-ingress drop counters
  • per-port bandwidth rate limits and QoS scheduling

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using swL2PortBufferFullDrops OID:

Select a D-Link DGS-3426P managed PoE switch as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type swL2PortBufferFullDrops into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, selecting the specific row/instance you want to monitor since this is a table column, then select it and click OK. The total number of packets discarded while buffer full. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is a Counter32-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the counter increases between polls, since a rising count of errors, failures, or discards often points to a real underlying problem. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
